Carlos Reales Dominguez, 21, of Davis, Yolo County, California, United States studied biological sciences at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) in Davis. He previously lived in Oakland, Alameda County, California where he played football and ran track.
Dominguez was in his third year at the university until April 25, 2023 when he was separated for academic reasons. He is accused of stabbing Kimberlee Guillory, 64, David Henry Breaux, 50, and Karim Abou Najm, 20.
A homeless man known as The Compassion Guy, Breaux was instrumental in the addition of a Compassion Bench at the corner of 3rd and C Streets in Davis in 2013. Najm and his father Majdi Abou Najm moved from Lebanon to the U.S. in 2018.
On April 27, 2023, Breux was found dead at Central Park in Davis. He was hunched over a bench where he often sat or slept.
Karim died after he was repeatedly stabbed allegedly by Dominguez at Sycamore Park in Davis at around 9:00 p.m. on April 29, 2023. The victim was set to graduate from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in June 2023.
On May 1, 2023, Dominguez allegedly stabbed Guillory at a homeless camp at L and Second streets in Davis. She is in critical condition and is recovering from her wounds.
Shortly after 1:00 p.m. on May 4, 2023, Dominguez was arrested on Pine Lane and Colby Drive in Davis and booked into the Yolo County Jail in Woodland, Yolo County. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
