Lauren Heike of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, United States has died. She was 29.

Heike was an esthetician who loved to exercise. She is Jeff Heike and Lana Heike‘s daughter.

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 28, 2023, Lauren went hiking on the Reach 11 trail, a community hiking trail near Scottsdale Road and Mayo Boulevard, which is near her home in Phoenix. That morning, she was stabbed multiple times from behind allegedly by a man, 23,  wearing dark clothing and a backpack.

The man, who is believed to be between 5’8″ and 6’0″ tall, lives in an apartment about a mile from the trail where Lauren was killed. The Phoenix Police Department has yet to reveal his name.

At around 10:30 a.m. on April 29, 2023, a passerby found Lauren’s body on the hiking trail in a desert area. She sustained trauma to her body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 6:30 p.m. on May 4, 2023, the man was arrested at his apartment. The Phoenix Police Department has yet to confirm whether or not he and Lauren knew each other.

Lauren’s exact cause of death has yet to be disclosed. There are still no details about the motive.
