During the climax of “Fast & Furious 5” (Fast Five), Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) stole a vault full of cash drug lord Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida). During the bank heist, Hernan was killed.
In “Fast & Furious 10” (Fast X), Reyes’s son Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) seeks revenge against Dom and his crew. Dante is very sadistic and a little androgynous and Momoa insisted on wearing special contact lenses as one of the ways he wanted the character to be more intriguing.
Momoa’s involvement with creating the look for Dante itself is intriguing. The actor wanted the Chevy Impala Dante races in to have a custom paint job so that he could color coordinate with the character’s nail polish, “Fast & Furious” car supervisor Dennis McCarthy told Slash Film.
“The color of the car, I was literally instructed to match the color of his fingernails via FaceTime so we did that,” McCarthy revealed. “We did some samples. I sent them back to Jason. He finally said, ‘Boom, that’s the color’.”
The other main characters in “Fast X” include Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), Tej Parker (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges), Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel), Han Lue (Sung Kang), Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) and Jakob Toretto (John Cena). Rita Moreno plays Dom, Mia and Jakob’s grandmother.
“Fast X” was filmed in 2022 in different parts of Portugal including Vila Real, Viseu and Lisboa. Other scenes were filmed in Rome, Italy and in London, England, United Kingdom.
Written by Dan Mazeau and Justin Lin, “Fast X’ was directed by Louis Leterrier. Universal Pictures will release the film in South Korea on May 17, 2023, in Portugal on May 18, 2023 and in the U.K. and the United States on May 19, 2023.
