Mindi Ruth Mebane Kassotis of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States has died. She was 40.

Kassotis was a writer and a business owner. Her parents Frank Mebane III and Betsy Mebane are residents of North Augusta, South Carolina, USA.
Mindi was the second wife of Nicholas James Kassotis, 40, who previously lived in Alexandria, Virginia, USA and Mount Vernon, Virginia. He is a former Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) officer for the U.S. Navy.
On October 9, 2016, Nicholas and Mindi got married at Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia. They lived together in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, USA, which is around 630 miles away from New Orleans.

accused of murdering Mindi. He allegedly placed her body parts in the woods of the Portal Hunting Club in Riceboro, Liberty County, Georgia sometime after November 18, 2022.
On December 2, 2022, hunters found the dismembered remains off Jones Road in the woods of the Portal Hunting Club. There was a single tooth implant in the upper right jaw and there were no tattoos, scars or marks on the body.
Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation took deoxyribonucleic acid samples from Mindi’s family. On May 11, 2023, the agents confirmed that the remains belonged to her.
On May 12, 2023, Nicholas was arrested in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA and booked into the Lancaster County Prison in Lancaster. He was charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and removal of body parts from scene of death or dismemberment.
Also known as Nicholas Killian James Stark, Nicholas is the son of Wayne Kassotis and Linda Kassotis, who are residents of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, USA. Nicholas is awaiting extradition back to Georgia.
Wayne’s mother Dianne E. Kassotis turned 84 on November 17, 2017. She died in Redlands, California, USA on September 24, 2018.
