Tyvell Thomas, 30, of Los Angeles, California, United States is accused of attacking a woman in Adelanto, San Bernardino County, California on August 5, 2023. He allegedly grabbed her from behind while she was walking past an apartment complex in Adelanto.
Thomas allegedly dragged the woman towards the apartments. She fought with him and continued to yell for him to let her go but she continued to drag her around 15 feet.
When a witness started yelling at Thomas, he let the woman go. She lost sight of him after he walked into the apartment complex.
While San Bernardino County Sherriff‘s deputies were interviewing the woman outside the apartment complex, Thomas exited the apartment complex. He was arrested without incident for kidnapping.
While Thomas was being transported to High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, he spit on a deputy through the bars in the patrol unit. Because of this, he was also charged with assault on a peace officer.
Adelanto was incorporated on December 22, 1970. The city had its own police department, which was disbanded in 2001 due to corruption.
Currently, Adelanto contracts with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for police services. Gabriel Reyes has been serving as the city’s mayor since 2018.
