Madison Kvaltin biography: 13 things about Miss Universe Canada 2023

Madison Elizabeth Svetlana Kvaltin is a Canadian entrepreneur and beauty queen originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and currently based on Manitoulin Island in Lake Huron, Ontario. She enjoys soccer, volleyball, football, cross country running, skating, dancing, boxing, Pilates and yoga.

Born and raised in Ontario, Kvatlin describes herself as a homemade art-driven person who never received special training. When it comes to arts, she loves geometric and floral designs.

When Kvaltin was young, she was a competitive swimmer. In 2014, her parents divorced.

In 2017, Kvatlin received her Smith certificate in business from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. In 2020, she earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and business from the same university.

After graduating from the university, Kvatlin had a corporate job. She later left the job and created Skilla Athletics, a body confident athletic brand, and a website design company to pursue her entrepreneurial spirit.

1. On May 14, 2016, she competed against 42 other Miss Northern Ontario 2016 candidates in Sudbury and won the title. In June 2016, she graduated from Lockerby Composite School in Sudbury.
2. On July 24, 2016, she competed at Miss Teenage Canada 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and finished in the Top 20.
3. On August 21, 2016, she competed against 36 other Top Model Search Canada 2016 candidates and won the third highest among the three crowns at stake, which was Miss Intercontinental Canada 2016. On October 16, 2016, she represented Canada at Miss Intercontinental 2016, competed against 59 other candidates at the Stein Studios in Colombo, Sri Lanka and was unplaced.
4. She worked as a server at Kingston Destination Group in Catharines, Ontario from April 2017 to October 2019 and at The Brass Pub in Kingston from August 2017 to October 2018.
5. She worked as a server at Kokomo’s in Canberra, Australia from February 2019 to June 2019 and at Killarney Mountain Lodge in Killarney, Ontario from June 2019 to July 2019. While in Australia, she tripped and fell while bartending and fractured her elbow, which required surgery and a screw in her elbow.
6. She worked for The Grizzly Grill in Kingston as a bartender from September 2019 to May 2020 and as a receptionist at Northern Communications Services Inc. in Sudbury from May 2020 to October 2020.
7. She worked for Northern 911 in Sudbury as an executive assistant from October 2020 to November 2021 and as a call quality auditor from November 2021 to March 2022.
8. October 3, 2021, she competed against 39 other Miss World Canada 2021 candidates at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She was unplaced.
9. In January 2022, she founded MAD Media Marketing.
10. On May 14, 2022, she represented Sudbury at Miss Universe Canada 2022 and competed against 53 other candidates at the Meridian Arts Centre in Toronto, Ontario. She was runner-up to Amelia Tu.
11. On December 13, 2022, she represented Canada at Miss International 2022 and competed against 65 other candidates at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. She finished in the Top 8.
12. On August 19, 2023, she represented Manitoulin Island at Miss Universe Canada 2023, competed against 57 other candidates at the River Rock Casino in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada and won the title.
13. She was 25 years old when she represented Canada at Miss Universe 2023 and competed against 83 other candidates at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador.
