He later found her dead in her apartment in Yorkville. She was sexually assaulted and fatally stabbed in her bed by Joseph George Sutherland, the same man who killed Tice on August 17, 1983. She was 22.
  10. On October 5, 2023, Sutherland pleaded guilty to murdering her and Tice.
