7 Indiana men arrested in Greenwood; US Secret Service joins sting operation

A child solicitation sting is being conducted in Greenwood, Johnson County, Indiana, United States. It started on November 28, 2023.

On November 29, 2023, a total of seven men were arrested on East Countyline Road in Greenwood where they thought they would meet a child aged 14 or 15. All of the suspects are Indiana residents.

Over several months, the U.S. Secret Service helped the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office orchestrate the sting operation. The police departments of Bargersville, Johnson County; Franklin, Johnson County and Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana also participated.

All of the seven arrestees were booked into the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Franklin. Here is the list:

  1. Brandon E. McClintic, 46, of Bargersville, Johnson County, Indiana was arrested for dissemination of harmful matter, possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
  2. Carl Deveier Wemple, 45, of New Palestine, Hancock County, Indiana was arrested for child solicitation.
  3. Jose Anselmo Sanic Lopez, 25, of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana was arrested for child solicitation, making an unlawful proposition and operating while never received license.
  4. Marcelo Ruiz Villegras, 27, of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana was arrested for child solicitation.
  5. Mark Timothy Reyher, 46, of Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana was arrested for child solicitation and possession of marijuana.
  6. Roger Lee Stephens, 57, of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana was arrested for child solicitation and dissemination of harmful matter.
  7. Za Mang, 29, of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana was arrested for child solicitation.
