Born Lesley Doreen Hill in Orkney Islands, Scotland, U.K., Langley attended the Royal Merchant Navy School, later renamed Reddam House Berkshire, in Winnersh, Wokingham, Berkshire, England, U.K. She lived in Inverness Terrace, Bayswater, London, England.
