Brock Tharp, 31, of Bally, Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States was recently arrested. He is accused of sexually assaulting a boy.

On September 7, 2023, the boy, then 12, was reported missing to the police department of Upper Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Three other suspects were arrested namely Joseph Slover, 24, of Towamencin Township, Montgomery County, Nicholas Benotto, 24, of Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Tristan Anderson, 21, of Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County.

After engaging in sexual communications, Tharp and the boy agreed to meet on August 29, 2023. They had sex in the Bally man’s car.

On August 30, 2023, the boy contacted Tharp to retrieve a personal item left in the car and to arrange another meeting. The Bally stopped responding to the boy’s messages.

In January 2024, investigators went undercover, posed as the boy and contacted Tharp. The Bally man responded, discussed his first meeting the boy and requested photos of the boy.

On February 23, 2024, Tharp was arrested. He was arraigned on felony counts of aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, rape of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age.

Bail for Tharp was set at $200,000 along with a probation detainer. On April 4, 2024, he attended his preliminary hearing.

All charges filed against Tharp were waived for trial. On May 15, 2024, he will be formally arraigned at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Montgomery County.
