Aziayh Scott, 23, of Hammond, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States recently moved to Maine, USA. He lived in Owls Head, Knox County, Maine with his girlfriend and her son Quayshawn Wilson.
Who is Aziayh Scott?
Wilson was born in July 2022. Scott is not his father.
Scott is accused of killing Wilson. On the evening of May 29, 2024, the boy was not breathing while he was outside the Wal-Mart in Thomaston, Knox County.
That evening, Wilson was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Knox County where he was pronounced dead. He died from blunt force trauma and his death was a homicide, according to the autopsy.
On June 4, 2024, detectives went to the residence in Owls Head where Scott and his girlfriend were living. The detectives learned that the couple had returned to Lousiana.
A warrant for Scott’s arrest was issued from Maine. He was charged with manslaughter in connection with Wilson’s death.
On June 5, 2024, task force members from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Eastern District of Louisiana and the New Orleans Task Force found Scott at a residence in New Orleans. He was arrested without incident.
The Hammond man was charged as a fugitive from justice. He will be arraigned in Louisiana and extradited back to Maine.
