Chandler is known to frequent the Cuyahoga County area. Whether or not he and Houston knew each other has yet to be confirmed.

A warrant was issued for Chandler’s arrest after he was identified as being involved in the fatal shooting of Houston. The suspect was wanted by the Bedford Police Department for aggravated murder.

On June 4, 2025, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) led by the U.S. Marshals Service went to an apartment in the 5900 block of Bear Creek Drive in Bedford Heights, Cuhayoga County. They were accompanied by Bedford Heights Police Department officers.

That day, Chandler was located and apprehended at the apartment. During the search of the apartment, a Bedford Heights Police Department K9 was used.

“Today’s arrest is another example of the outstanding partnerships in northern Ohio between our fugitive task force and local police departments,” Peter J. Elliott stated after Chandler’s arrest. “At a moment’s notice, the Bedford Heights Police Department deployed officers, including a K9, to assist our task force during the arrest of this violent fugitive.”

Elliott was a deputy U.S. Marshal in Cleveland from July 1987 to July 1992 and a senior special agent of the U.S. Department of Justice from July 1992 to March 2003. He has been the U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio since March 2003.

Based in Washington, D.C., USA, the U.S. Department of Justice contains most of the federal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. including the U.S. Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The NOVFTF is based in Cleveland, which is around 17 miles away from Bedford Heights.
