An international manhunt is underway for Matthew Christopher Flores Semyonov, 27, of Arizona, United States. He is suspected of murdering his adoptive parents Hector Flores and Larissa Flores and burying their remains in the backyard of their home before fleeing the country.
On February 9, 2026, Semyonov turned 27. He is the prime suspect in the double homicide of Hector and Larissa.
Hector, who was a realtor, was 69. Larissa, a nurse practitioner who specialized in psychiatric care, was 63.

The investigation started after family members grew concerned and requested a welfare check on Semyonov, Hector and Larissa. On August 4, 2026, officers with the police department of Avondale, Maricopa County, Arizona conducted a check at the family’s residence near Litchfield and Indian School roads in Litchfield Park, Maricopa County.
Upon entering the home, investigators did not find any of the three individuals but discovered a significant amount of blood along with clear evidence indicating an attempt had been made to clean up the crime scene. Subsequent searches of the property led law enforcement to a gruesome discovery: human remains buried in the backyard of the residence. Authorities later confirmed the remains belonged to Hector and Larissa.
On August 7, 2026, the Avondale Police Department formally requested federal assistance to locate and apprehend Semyonov. Investigators determined that the suspect, who lived with his adoptive parents prior to their deaths, had fled the country. To coordinate international tracking efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service obtained a federal arrest warrant charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. At the state level, he faces charges of first-degree murder – dangerous, domestic violence, and abandonment or concealment of a dead body.
In coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and international law enforcement agencies, the search is being led by the Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force, which is led by the U.S. Marshals. Officials have issued a public warning that Semyonov should be considered dangerous. Members of the public are advised not to approach or attempt to apprehend him, but to immediately contact law enforcement or submit a tip if he is spotted.
According to federal fugitive notices, Semyonov is described as a white male standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 177 pounds with blue eyes.
