Carnelius Hudson, 34, of Mississippi, United States was wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Ruleville, Sunflower County, Mississippi. He has been taken into custody in Sallisaw, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, USA following a swift multistate operation by federal and local law enforcement agencies.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Hudson was apprehended on the afternoon of August 10, 2026 in Sallisaw. He was sought by the Ruleville Police Department under an active murder warrant issued earlier that same day for the alleged killing of his mother Doris Hudson of Ruleville.
The emergency investigation commenced on the morning of that day when the Ruleville Police Department responded to a call for service concerning an unresponsive female at her home located near the 300 block of Oscar Street in Ruleville. Upon entering the residence, responding officers found Doris dead.
Doris had sustained severe lacerations and apparent stab wounds. She was 65.
Within hours of discovering the scene, investigators secured a murder warrant against Carnelius. Seeking to track down the suspect before he could evade capture, the Ruleville Police Department enlisted the immediate assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF).
Task force personnel quickly developed operational intelligence indicating that Hudson had fled Mississippi and traveled across state lines into Oklahoma. The GCRFTF promptly reached out to the U.S. Marshals Service for the Eastern District of Oklahoma to assist in locating and apprehending the suspect.
Later that afternoon, federal marshals located Carnelous at a motel in Sallisaw. Task force members established discrete surveillance around the motel property and positively identified Hudson as he exited and entered a vehicle. Law enforcement officers surrounded the vehicle and took him into custody without incident.
Hudson was subsequently transported and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail in Oklahoma, where he remains detained while awaiting formal extradition back to Mississippi to face criminal charges. Authorities noted that the Ruleville Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) will continue to lead the ongoing murder investigation.
