Audrey Christine Burnette Hale was a Tennessee teacher and the eldest of seven siblings. Married to Henry Edwin Hale, she had three children. Christine retired in 1972 to care for her ailing husband and lived until 2012. Her grandson committed a tragic shooting at The Covenant School in 2023.
