‘UFC on Fox 29’ results: Israel Adesanya vs Marvin Vettori

Fight fans flocked at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona on April 14, 2018 for “UFC on Fox 29.” They were witnesses to 14 exciting mixed martial arts bouts.

In the 12th bout of the evening, Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya, 28, faced Marvin “The Italian Dream” Vettori, 24. They competed in the middleweight division.

The middleweight bout between Adesanya and Vettori ended via a split decision after three five-minute rounds. It was in favor of the Nigerian fighter, making him still an undefeated fighter.

After defeating Vettori at “UFC on Fox 29,” Adesanya now has 13 wins and 0 loss. When Adesanya made his UFC debut on February 10, 2018 at “UFC 221,” he knocked out Rob Wilkinson via knees and punches.

Adesaya was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He is fighting out of Auckland, New Zealand.

On the other hand, Vettori was born in Trento, Trentino, Italy. He is fighting out of Mezzocorona, Trentino.

After losing to Adesanya, Vettori now has 12 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. Adesanya is the fifth opponent Vettori fought inside the UFC cage.

In the co-main event of “UFC on Fox 29,” Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit, 33, of Albuquerque, New Mexico competed against Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira, 30, of Tres Rios, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the welterweight division. Oliveira submitted Condit via guillotine choke at 3:17 of Round 2.

In the main event, Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier, 29, of Coconut Creek, Florida and Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje, 29, of Arvada, Colorado battled it out in the lightweight division. Referee Herb Dean ended the bout at 0:33 of Round 4 when Poirier submitted Gaethje via punches.
