The only opponent reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, 21, of Singapore did not defeat via either submission or knockout is Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi, 35, of Japan. Two years after their first match, the two ONE Championship stars will have their rematch in the main event of “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

On May 6, 2016, Lee defeated Yamaguchi via unanimous decision in the inaugural ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship at “ONE: Ascent to Power” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. On May 18, 2018, the Japanese contender will have the opportunity to redeem herself and possibly become the new ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion.

“I am not the same martial artist as I was two years ago,” Yamaguchi stated. “I’ve made some key improvements to my game and I am excited to show everyone what I have worked so hard for.”

“Two years ago, Angela and myself put on a tremendous show for fans in Singapore, and we’re ready to do it again,” the Japanese martial arts veteran said. “I respect Angela as an athlete and as a person, but I’m ready to give this bout my all.

Yamaguchi is the DEEP Jewels Featherweight Champion and in her 28-bout professional career, she owns 7 submissions and 2 knockouts. The bout between her and Lee in 2016 won multiple Bout of the Year honors from international media publications.

In Yamaguchi’s most recent outing, she defeated Gina “Conviction” Iniong, 27, of the Philippines to win impressively by unanimous decision after three rounds. In ONE Championship, the Japanese fighter has 2 wins and 2 losses.

On May 14, 2018, Lee and Yamaguchi attended the press conference for “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Marina Bay Sands in Bayfront Subzone, Downtown Core, Singapore. Also present during the event were reigning reigning ONE Featherweight and Lightweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 19, Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, 34, Sergio “Samurai” Wielzen, 30, Yodsanklai “The Boxing Computer” Fairtex, 32, and ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, 47.
