On May 6, 2016, Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, 21, of Singapore became the first ever ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion after defeating Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi, 35, of Japan at “ONE: Ascent to Power” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. On May 18, 2018, the two will have their much awaited rematch in the same venue.

“Coming back to Singapore ready to defend my title, it’s a familiar feeling,” Lee stated. “At the same time, it feels new to me, after everything. It’s like a new beginning.”

“I am excited to put in the best performance of my life and remind the world who I am as a fighter, as a martial artist, and as a world champion,” the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion added. “I have missed the competition, the lights, the spectacle, and everything that comes with it. I live for this.”

Lee is considered one of ONE Championship’s most outstanding athletes. Since capturing the inaugural ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship in 2016, she has defended the title successfully on two occasions.

The beautiful combination of Lee’s elite striking and grappling has proven to be a potent formula for success as she has remained unbeaten in her career. In the most recent bout of an impressive run, she dominated top contender Istela Nunes, showcasing her wide array of skills.

On May 14, 2018, Lee and Yamaguchi attended the press conference for “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Marina Bay Sands in Bayfront Subzone, Downtown Core, Singapore. Also present during the event were reigning ONE Featherweight and Lightweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 19, Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, 34, Sergio “Samurai” Wielzen, 30, Yodsanklai “The Boxing Computer” Fairtex, 32, and ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, 47.
