ONE Championship will be at the Studio City Event Center in Macau, China on June 23, 2018 for “ONE: Pinnacle of Power.” Like the previous events of the promotion in 2018, the fight card will feature both mixed martial arts bouts and strikes-only matches under the new league called ONE Super Series.
The first bout of the evening will be between Mario Satya Wirawan, 28, of Bogor, Indonesia and Rin Saroth, 24, of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. They will compete in the bantamweight division on the MMA card.
Wirawan is a former high school football player who became a martial artist. When he made his promotional debut on September 27, 2015, he lost to his fellow Indonesian contender “The Terminator” Sunoto via unanimous decision at “ONE: Odyssey of Champions.”
On December 5, 2015, Wirawan earned his first ONE Championship victory. He knocked out his Cambodian opponent Chan Heng via punch and head kick at “ONE: Kingdom of Khmer” in 6 seconds, the fastest knockout in ONE Championship history.
However, the historic victory was followed by three losses in 2016. Wirawan lost to Yohan “The Iceman” Mulia Legowo of Indonesia via guillotine choke submission at “ONE: Tribe of Warriors,” to Burn “Hitman” Soriano of the Philippines via spinning back fist knockout at “ONE: Titles and Titans” and “The Stalker” Xie Bin of China via unanimous decision at “ONE: Age of Domination.”
Currently, Wirawan holds a professional MMA record of 5 wins and 5 losses while Saroth has 2 wins and 5 losses. Saroth is Heng’s Cambodian Top Team stablemate.
Saroth was successful when he made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Kingdom of Khmer.” He submitted Mission Ali of Cambodia via armbar.
On January 20, 2018, Saroth was submitted by Sunoto via keylock at “ONE: Kings of Courage.” On March 9, 2018, Saroth lost to “Jungle Cat” Muhammad Aiman of Malaysia via unanimous decision at “ONE: Visions of Victory.”
Headlining “ONE: Pinnacle of Power” are reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan of China and Laura “La Gladiadora” Balin of Argentina.
