Andre Meunier vs Ibrahim El Bouni at ‘ONE: Battle for the Heavens’ in Guangzhou, China

 

 

ONE Championship has announced the complete fight card for “ONE: Battle for the Heavens,” which will take place at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China on July 7, 2018. The ninth bout of the evening will be between Andre “The Giant” Meunier, 42, of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and Ibrahim “Mr. Cool” El Bouni, 25, of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Both Meunier and El Bouni are making their ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens.” Their bout is one of the three striking-only matches on the ONE Super Series card.

Meunier and El Bouni will battle it out in a kickboxing contest. They will compete at a catchweight of 105 kg.

Currently, Meunier holds a professional record of 42 wins and 7 losses. He is a four-time Kickboxing World Champion.

As a professional mixed martial artist, Meunier was supposed to compete on April 17, 2014 at “Australian FC 9” but his bouts against Herman “Ermehn” Sakaria and Hale Vaa’sa were both cancelled. On June 14, 2015, Meunier made his professional MMA debut at “Australian FC 13” where he lost to fellow Australian contender Brandon “Zilla” Sosoli.

On the other hand, El Bouni has 36 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw. While he is fighting out of Amsterdam, Netherlands, he is originally from Morocco.

Currently, El Bouni is trained by Ridouan El Assrouti and managed by Melvin Manhoef. On March 25, 2018, the Moroccan-Dutch kickboxer won at ‘WFL: Final 16” against Fred “Piranha Sikking, 38, of the Netherlands via unanimous decision.

The other ONE Super Series bout at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens” is Muay Thai contest between Saemapetch Fairtex, 23, of Thailand and Deividas “The Savage Sitsongpeenong” Danyla, 26, of Lithuania. They will compete in the bantamweight division.

“ONE: Battle for the Heavens” will be headlined by Yodcherry Sityodtong, 19, of Thailand and Kai Ting “Killer Bee” Chuang, 23, of Taiwan, who will compete for the inaugural ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Championship. It will be the 10th bout of the evening.
