[PHOTOS] Abdoul Abdouraguimov vs Sidney Wheeler at ‘Brave 14: Morocco’

For the first time in the history of mixed martial arts, an MMA event hosted by a global organization took place in Africa. This was courtesy of Bahrain-based MMA promotion Brave Combat Federation, which hosted “Brave 14” in Morocco on August 14, 2018.

“Brave 14” took place at the Omnisports Indoor Club of Tangier in Tangier, Morocco on August 18, 2018. In the seventh bout of the evening, Russian-French MMA fighter Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 22, faced Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 21, in the welterweight division.

Originally from Dagestan, Russia, Abdouraguimov currently lives in Nantes, France. On the other hand, Wheeler is from Dalton, Georgia, United States.

The welterweight bout between Abdouraguimov and Wheeler ended at 3:20 of Round 1. The France-based Dagestani fighter knocked out his American opponent.

Winning at “Brave 14” makes Abdouraguimov still an undefeated fighter. Beating Wheeler improved his professional MMA record to 8 wins, 0 loss and 1 No Contest.

On the other hand, losing to Abdouraguimov downgraded Wheeler’s professional MMA record to 6 wins and 3 losses. It was the French-Russian fighter’s first bout in Brave CF and the Dalton native’s second outing in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.

Abdouraguimov made his professional MMA debut on November 26, 2016 at “100% Fight: Contenders 33” where he submitted Adrien Moreira of Germany. The France-based Dagestani fighter went on to submit his next five opponents namely Sofiane “The Lion” Aissaoui of France, Gael Grimaud of France, Nayed “The Strangler” Hezam of France, Aleko “Ako” Saghliani of Georgia and Tanauzu “Tana” Ruiz of Spain.

The bout between Abdouraguimov and Georges Eid on March 17, 2018 at “European Beatdown 3” ended in a No Contest. On May 5, 2018, Abdouraguimov defeated Viscardi Andrade of Brazil at “Strength and Honor Championship 12” via decision.

In the main event of “Brave 14,” Brave CF Lightweight Champion Ottman “Bulldozer” Azaitar, 28, of Germany competed in the welterweight division. The German-Moroccan fighter knocked out Danijel “Vitez: Kokora, 28, of Deliblato, Serbia at 0:32 of Round 1.

In the co-main event, Jeremy “JBC” Kennedy, 25, of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada faced Danyel Pilo, 30, Lavagna, Genoa, Italy in the featherweight division. The Canadian fighter knocked out his Italian opponent at 2:02 of Round 1.
