Brave Combat Federation and World Fighting Championship Akhmat will hold a joint event for the first time. The promotions have revealed the complete fight card of “Brave 18” and “WFCA 54,” which will be combined as one event.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, “Brave 18” and “WFCA 54” will take place on November 16, 2018 at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The joint event will be held during the Brave International Combat Week 2018, the largest combat sports festival held in Asia.
The fight card of “Brave 18” and “WFCA 54” will feature three championship bouts. In the main event, Lucas Mineiro of Brazil will compete for the vacant Brave CF Lightweight Championship against Abdul Kareem Al Selwady of Palestine.
In the co-main event, Abdul Rakhman Dudaev of Russia and Joe Taimanglo of Guam will compete in the bantamweight division. Right before the co-main event, Magomedrasul Khasbulaev of Russia will face Robert Emerson of the United States in the featherweight division.
Under the main card, reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen Loman of the Philippines will defend his title from Felipe Efrain of Brazil. In the opening fight of the main card, the inaugural Brave CF Flyweight Championship title will be contested between Marcel Adur of Brazil and Velimurad Alkhasov of Russia.
With seven bouts, the undercard features multiple talents who came through the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation developmental system. In the opening bout of the night, 2017 IMMAF gold medalist Benjamin Bennett of the U.S. will face Khamzat Chimaev of Sweden in the welterweight division.
IMMAF medalist Hussain Ayyad of Bahrain will face Hassan Abo Ali of Egypt in the flyweight division. Akhmed Sheraniev of Russia will face Antonio Carlos Ribeiro of Brazil in the featherweight division.
One of the most awaited bouts will showcase the return of Luan Santiago of Brazil as he faces Djamil Chan of the Netherlands in the lightweight division. The Dutch contender currently holds the record for the fastest knockout in Brave CF.
Both Chan and Santiago have above 80 percent of their wins by knockout. Their “Brave 18” bout is least expected to go the distance.
Goyti Dazev of Kazakhstan will take on Vasiliy Kurochkin of Russia in the welterweight division. Anzor Abdulkhozjaev of Russia will face Alexis Savvidis of Greece in the featherweight division.
Cian Cowley of Ireland will face Hardeep Rai from the United Kingdom in a catchweight bout. The Irish contender is former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s training partner at SBG Ireland while the English fighter trains at Jackson-Wink MMA.
The fight night will be broadcast live on Abu Dhabi Sports in the Middle East and North Africa, on Combate in Brazil and on StarSat and VodaCom in Africa. Live digital broadcast of the event will be provided by Fite TV in the U.S. and by Brave TV where broadcast partners are yet to be established.
