Featuring 13 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC Fight Night 138” took place at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on October 27, 2018. In the co-main event of the evening, Michael “The Menace” Johnson, 32, of Boca Raton, Florida, United States faced Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov of Dublin, Ireland.

Johnson was born in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. He competes in the featherweight division of the UFC.

“UFC Fight Night 138” marked Johnson’s 20th UFC bout. Weighing 147 lbs, the missed weight during the weigh-ins so 20 percent of his fight purse will be awarded to Lobov.

Lobov was born in Gorky, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, Soviet Union, which is now Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He is training at the Straight Blast Gym Ireland.

Before joining the UFC, the Russian-Irish fighter competed in the Absolute Championship Berkut, Cage Warriors and Cage Contender. “UFC Fight Night 138” marked his seventh UFC bout.

Fight Results 

Johnson and Lobov competed in a catch weight of 147 lbs. After three five-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges and in the end, referee Jerin Valel raised the hand of the American contender as he was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 138” improved Johnson’s professional MMA record to 19 wins and 13 losses. On the other hand, losing to the Boca Raton native downgraded Lobov’s record to 13 wins, 15 losses and 1 draw.

In the main event, Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir of Fribourg, Switzerland and Anthony “Lionheart” Smith of Omaha, Nebraska, United States competed in the light heavyweight division. The American contender submitted his Swiss opponent via rear-naked choke at 4:26 of Round 3.
