Shay Mitchell is currently in the Philippines to promote the upcoming second season of the Netflix series “You.” While in the country, the Canadian-Filipino actress took to Instagram to share her look inspired by Filipino-Australian celebrities Catriona Gray, 25, and Anne Curtis, 33.
The people behind Mitchell’s look were make-up artist Robbie Pinera and hairstylist Raymond Santiago. The two Filipino artists previously styled Gray, Curtis and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, 29.
Gray was born in Cairns, Queensland, Australia to her Scottish father Ian Gray and Filipino mother Normita Ragas Magnayon. Currently, Catriona is in New York City, New York, United States, where she will stay for one year while fulfilling her duties as the reigning Miss Universe.
Curtis was born in Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia to her Australian father James Ernest Curtis-Smith and Filipino mother Carmencita Ojales. Anne starred in “Blood Ransom” in 2014 opposite “American Horror Story: Coven” alum Alexander Dreymon, 35, and “BuyBust” in 2018 opposite reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41.
Mitchell was born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada to her Scottish-Irish father Mark Mitchell and Filipino mother Precious Garcia. From 20010-2017, Shay played Emily Fields in “Pretty Little Liars.”
In 2018, Shay played Peach Salinger in “You” Season 1. She is set to reprise the role in the second season in the form of flashbacks.
“Gossip Girl” alum Penn Badgley, 32, will return as Joe Goldberg in “You” Season 2 while it has yet to be confirmed whether or not John Stamos is reprising his role as Dr. Nicky. “You” showrunner Sera Gamble told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s too soon to say definitely whether John Stamos, 55, will return in season two but we have been talking a lot about the character and we’re excited to keep telling that story.”
