Training out of Team Lakay in Baguio City, Philippines, Harold “The Artist” Banario, 24, was one of the winners at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” It was his first win and first bout in Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation.

Featuring nine MMA bouts, “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019. In the fifth bout of the evening, Banario faced Ariel “The Lady Boxer” Oliveros, 24, of Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines in the bantamweight division with Tomasz Bronder as the referee.

It only took Banario 41 seconds to submit Oliveros via kneebar but the Team Lakay fighter was not able to break the record of the fastest submission in Brave CF. The record is currently held by Mehmosh “The Renegade” Raza, 23, of Pakistan, who submitted Arben “Bigbang” Escayo, 31, of Manila, Philippines via guillotine choke at “Brave 17” in Pakistan on October 27, 2018 in just 17 seconds.

Winning at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” improved Banario’s professional MMA record to 5 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Oliveros now has 3 wins and 4 losses.

On Banario’s corner at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” were his brother Honorio “The Rock” Banario, 29, and Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao. Honorio is a former ONE Featherweight World Champion.

Harold has been competing professionally since 2012. He was supposed to make his Brave CF debut at “Brave 20: India” at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India on December 22, 2018 but he was forced off his scheduled bout against Angad Bisht, 20, of Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, India and was rescheduled to compete at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.”

Gamzat Magomedov, 23, of St. Petersburg, Russia was originally set as Harold’s opponent in the Team Lakay fighter’s Brave CF debut. But the Russian fighter who is training out of KHK MMA in Manama, Bahrain has been forced to pull out due to undisclosed reasons and was replaced by Oliveros.

Meanwhile, here is Harold during a signing of the Brave CF and TV5 partnership:
