Mixed martial artist Dominick “The Devastator” Reyes, 29, of Victorville, California, United States is still undefeated. He was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 147,” which marked his fifth victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Featuring 12 MMA bouts, “UFC Fight Night 147″ took place at The 02 Arena in London, England on March 16, 2019. In the 10th bout of the evening, Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir, 29, of Fribourg, Switzerland in the light heavyweight division.
Leon Roberts served as the referee of the light heavyweight bout between Reyes and Oezdemir. After three five-minute rounds, the contest was left in the hands of the judges.
In the end, Roberts raised the hand of Reyes, who was declared the winner via split decision. One judge scored the bout 28-29 in favor of Oezdemir while the other two judges both scored it 29-28 in favor of Reyes.
Winning at “UFC Fight Night 147” improved Reyes’s professional MMA record to 11 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Oezdemir now has 15 wins and 4 losses.
Competing professionally since 2014, Reyes made his UFC debut in 2017. The first four opponents he defeated in the American MMA promotion were Joachim Christensen, 40, of Copenhagen, Denmark, Jeremy “Grizzly” Kimball, 28, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, Jared “The Killa Gorilla” Cannonier, 35, of Anchorage, Alaska, USA and Ovince “OSP” St. Preux, 35, of Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.
“UFC Fight Night 147” marked Reyes’s fifth UFC bout. In the main event, Darren “The Gorilla” Till, 26, of Liverpool, Merseyside, England knocked out Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal, 34, of Miami, Florida, USA in the second round in the welterweight division. Reyes was one of the three fighters who represented the U.S. while Oezdemir was the sole representative of Switzerland.
In the co-main event Leon “Rocky” Edwards, 27, of Erdington, Birmingham, England faced Gunnar “Gunni” Nelson, 30, of Reykjavik, Iceland in the welterweight division. The English contender won via split decision.
