Representing Team Philippines, Sugar Ray “The Mammoth” Estroso, Brian “The Batman” Paule and Mark “The Wolf” Palomar of Team Philippines were declared as the 3 vs 3 Champions at “URCC Global: Raw Fury.” They defeated their opponents representing Team China.
Featuring 10 MMA matches, “URCC Global: Raw Fury” took place at The Cove at Okada Manila in Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines on April 27, 2019. In the sixth bout of the evening, Estroso, Paule and Palomar faced Tian Hong Yan, Zhao Sigi and Zhouzhe Yihang of Team China for the 3 vs 3 Championship.
Including the fighters and the referees, nine people were inside the URCC Global cage at once. JR Rulloda, Florence Eusebio and Joey Lepiten all served as the referees.
After 55 seconds in the first round, the referees put a stop to the contest when one member of Team China was knocked out. Eventually, Team China verbally informed the referees that they would not continue the bout, which automatically made Team Philippines the winner.
Including China and the Philippines, six countries were represented at “URCC Global: Raw Fury,” the first event of the Philippines-based mixed martial arts promotion URCC Global in 2019. Japan, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States were also represented.
Estroso, Paule and Palomar were among the 17 hometown heroes who competed at “URCC Global: Raw Fury.” Yan, Zhao and Zhouzhe were the only representatives of China and were all URCC Global debutantes.
As a solo fighter, Estroso, the reigning URCC Global Heavyweight World Champion, holds a professional MMA record of 1 win and 5 losses. Paule has 0 win and 1 loss while Palomar has 1 win and 3 losses.
