Belo Horizonte, Brazil’s Caio Gregorio earns 1st Brave CF win at ‘Brave 25’

Caio Gregorio, 30, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil was one of the winners at the Brave Combat Federation combat sports event “Brave 25.” It was his first victory in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion.

Brave CF held “Brave 25,” which featured 10 MMA bouts, at the Arena Minas Tênis Clube in Belo Horizonte on August 30, 2019. In the third bout of the evening, Gregorio competed in the featherweight division against Nkosi “King” Ndebele, 24, of Diepsloot, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Early on, Gregorio dominated the fight on the ground but Ndebele managed to defend well on the floor. The bout was back to striking.

The next round was dominated by Gregorio. He ended the second round by overpowering Ndebele with his grappling prowess.

Winning via submission at “Brave 25” improved the professional MMA record of Gregorio to 7 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Ndebele now has 1 win and 1 loss.

“Brave 25” marked Ndelebele’s second bout and first loss in Brave CF. It was Gregorio’s second bout in the promotion.

Gregorio made his Brave CF debut on April 13, 2019. He lost via split decision to Arnold “Silverback” Quero, 31, of Paris, France at “Brave 11” at the Mineirao Stadium’s Terrace in Belo Horizonte.

The Belo Horizonte native has been competing professionally since 2014. Aside from Brave CF, he also previously competed in Jungle Fight and Federação Fight Pro.

The “Brave 25” weigh-ins took place in Belo Horizonte on August 29, 2019. Gregorio and Ndebele weighed 66.2kg and 65.8kg, respectively.

In the main event of the evening, Cleiton “Predator” Silva, 33, of Belo Horizonte challenged reigning Brave CF Lightweight World Champion Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. The challenger dethroned the defending champion via submission in the first round.

The co-main event was a bantamweight bout between Felipe Efrain, 25, of Sao Paulo and Matheus Nicolau, 26, of Belo Horizonte. The latter emerged as the victor.
