Rafael “Cabeça” Marquezani, 24, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil was one of the winners at the Brave Combat Federation combat sports event “Brave 25.” It was his first victory in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion.
Brave CF held “Brave 25,” which featured 10 MMA bouts, at the Arena Minas Tênis Clube in Belo Horizonte on August 30, 2019. In the fourth bout of the evening, Marquezani competed in the welterweight division against Geraldo “Luan Santana” Coelho de Lima Neto, 28, Curitiba, Parana, Brazil.
Marquezani shocked the crowd when he knocked out Neto in the first round. The latter is now riding a two-bout losing streak.
Winning at “Brave 25” improved the professional MMA record of Marquezani to 6 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Neto now has 12 wins and 5 losses.
“Brave 25” marked Neto’s third bout and second loss in Brave CF. It was Marquezani’s promotional debut.
Marquezani was born in Brazil on February 19, 1995 and has been competing professionally since 2016. Before joining Brave CF, he competed in TF Team, BH Fight, Mineira MMA Federation, Jungle Fight and Minas Gerais Federation of Mixed Martial Arts.
The “Brave 25” weigh-ins took place in Belo Horizonte on August 29, 2019. Neto and Marquezani weighed 79.4kg and 78.6kg, respectively.
In the main event of the evening, Cleiton “Predator” Silva, 33, of Belo Horizonte challenged reigning Brave CF Lightweight World Champion Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. The challenger dethroned the defending champion via submission in the first round.
The co-main event was a bantamweight bout between Felipe Efrain, 25, of Sao Paulo and Matheus Nicolau, 26, of Belo Horizonte. The latter emerged as the victor.
