Isabelle de Leon crowned Miss Multinational Philippines 2019 by Kimi Mugford

Actress, singer and songwriter Isabelle de Leon, 25, was crowned Miss Multinational Philippines 2019 on September 15, 2019. She succeeded Miss Multinational Philippines 2018 Kimi Mugford, 19, who is of Canadian and Igorot descent.

Representing Quezon City, Metro Manila, De Leon competed in Miss World Philippines 2019 against 39 other candidates. During the competition, she wore a gown by Nat Manilag.

Five other queens were crowned namely Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Marquez Dee, 24, of Makati City, Metro Manila, Miss Eco Philippines 2019 Kelley Day, 22, of Tarlac City, Tarlac, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019 Maria Katrina Llegado, 21, of Taguig City, Metro Manila, Miss Tourism Philippines 2019 Glyssa Leiann Perez, 24, of Bohol and Miss Teen Eco International Philippines 2019 Vanessa-Mae Walters. Shannon Christie Kerver, 22, of Nueva Ecija and Kristi Celyn “Casie” Banks, 24, of Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila were the respective first and second runners-up.

Miss World Philippines 2019 is the ninth edition of the national beauty pageant. The coronation night took place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Miss World 2017 quarterfinalist Laura Lehman, 25, and Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Winwyn Marquez, 27, hosted the Miss World Philippines 2019 coronation night along with actors Victor Basa, 34, and Edgar Allan Guzman, 30. “Malamaya” star Sunshine Cruz, 42, and Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, 44, were among the judges.

Representing the Philippines, de Leon will compete in Miss Multinational 2019 in India. If she wins, she will become the international beauty pageant’s second titleholder following Sophia Senoron, 19, who was crowned Miss Multinational 2017 on February 24, 2018 in New Delhi, India.

Born on July 30, 1994, de Leon made her acting debut in the television series “Munting Anghel” in 2000 on GMA Network. She is best known for playing Donna “Duday” Vallejo in the sitcom “Daddy Di Do Du” from 2001 to 2007 on the same network.

In 2003, de Leon played a girl suffering from cerebral palsy in the film “Magnifico,” which won the Crystal Bear for the 2004 Berlin International Film Festival Children’s Category and the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk Grand Prix. She won Best Child Actress at the 2004 FAMAS Awards for the role.

In 2013, de Leon released an album titled “LoveZone,” which contained six songs. Aside from being active in show business, she is also dedicating her time as an advocate to Bahay Kanlungan, a social welfare program for destitute elderly women.
