Singaporean mixed martial artist Amir Khan, 24, has been named as the ambassador of a collaborative campaign of ONE Championship and Vaseline. The campaign is a martial arts program launched by the two companies that are committed to collaborate on various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities aimed at promoting healing and better living through martial arts.
ONE Championship has embarked on a nine-month journey with SHINE Children and Youth Services in the HealingChampions Martial Arts Program along with Vaseline. As the ambassador of the campaign, Khan will engage the youth in various talks and activities.
The program runs from April 2019 to November 2020. Selected youth participate in a six-month martial arts program at Evolve MMA in Singapore, which consists of one session per week.
“ONE Championship aims to work with the biggest brands in the world that champion the same principles and values our company represents, the true martial arts values that are integrity, humility, honor, respect, courage, discipline and compassion,” ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong stated. “Vaseline is a brand that has taken care of people for years and our partnership opens the door to amazing possibilities and opportunities to further serve the people. As CEO of the world’s largest martial arts organization, I want to reach out and engage with the community, particularly the youth, and inspire them to do more, dream more and be more in life.”
Vaseline brand manager Sherlyn Heng is also optimistic about the partnership. She said,“Vaseline, with our iconic Jelly, has a strong anchor in healing.”
“We are committed to heal all skin, from the everyday to the toughest conditions so that everyone can fully participate in life,” Heng continued. “Through this partnership with ONE, we hope to make a difference and start youths on a healing and empowering journey to become champions of their future.”
“Through the Healing Champions Martial Arts Program, youths will be taught fundamental life skills through martial arts and acquire its many benefits which includes building confidence and mental strength and improving discipline and focus,” Heng added. “They will also be empowered with basic self-defense skills and techniques. Vaseline serves as the enabler for the program and accompanies our youth champions on this journey with Vaseline Healing Jelly.”
According to the Unilever calculation based on Nielsen unit sales information for the total markets in the last 12 months, Vaseline is the world leader in body care. It has long played a significant role in combat sports events as the popular jelly is often used in pat-downs before matches and in between rounds in athletes’ corners in order to provide skin protection, especially around the face area.
Because ONE Championship places great value in the safety and well-being of its martial arts athletes, they deserve only the very best. Vaseline is used extensively for this purpose and more in all the events of the Singapore-based martial arts organization.
