MTV unveiled a group of powerhouse performers to kick off the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards lineup on October 15, 2019. Included in the lineup are Halsey, Rosalía, Becky G, Akon, Ava Max and Mabel, who will perform live from the FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre of Seville, Spain on November 3, 2019 at 9:00 p.m. CET.
Becky G will also serve as the host of the 2019 MTV EMAs. Additional performers and presenters to be announced.
The 2019 MTV EMAs will broadcast live on MTV Asia on November 4, 2019, starting with the red carpet premiere at 2:00 a.m. (WIB), 3:00 a.m. (SG/MY/PH) and 4:00 a.m. (MY – Astro) followed by the main show at 3:00 a.m. (WIB), 4:00 a.m. (SG/MY/PH) and 5:00 a.m. (MY – Astro). Catch the primetime encore telecast on the same day with the red carpet at 7:00 p.m. (WIB) and 8:00 p.m. (SG/MY/PH) and the main show at 7:50 p.m. (WIB) and 8:50 p.m. (SG/MY/PH).
Halsey returns to the EMA stage with three nods for Best Collaboration, Best Pop and Best Look. Rosalía also returns with four nominations for Best Video, Best Collaboration, Best Look and Best Push.
The 2019 MTV EMAs marks Becky G, Ava Max and Mabel’s EMA stage debuts. This follows the release of Becky G’s first album “Mala Santa.”
Halsey’s EMA performance announcement follows the release of her new single “Graveyard” from her album “Manic,” which will be released on January 17, 2020 on Capitol Records. This is the follow-up to her chart-topping 2017 album “hopeless fountain kingdom.”
Rosalía’s EMA appearance affirms her quick ascent to global stardom. This follows her first two MTV VMA Awards and the releases of her recent single “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi” with Ozuna and “Con Altura” with J Balvin and El Guincho.
Akon will take the stage with Becky G to perform “Como No” from his first Spanish-Language album “El Negreeto,” which recently debuted as the number 1 album on the Latin charts. Ava Max’s EMA performance comes at the heels of MTV’s premiere of the epic music video for her latest dance-pop single “Torn.”
Mabel will be performing her global smash “Don’t Call Me Up” from her debut studio album High Expectations. As previously announced, iconic rock act Green Day will also perform from Seville’s spectacular Plaza de España as a part of “MTV World Stage Seville.”
The official sponsor of the 2019 MTV EMAs is Amazon Music while the red carpet is sponsored by the upcoming film “Charlie’s Angels.” The nominees were announced via a video series of beautiful coffee art reveals as a play on the traditional Spanish cortado.
