Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo, 28, of New Zealand has earned his second victory in ONE Championship. He was one of the winners at “ONE: Dawn of Valor,” which took place at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, Indonesia on October 25, 2019.
“ONE: Dawn of Valor” featured 13 mixed martial arts bouts and three ONE Super Series contests, which are two kickboxing contests and one Muay Thai fight. In the fifth bout of the evening, Abelardo competed in an MMA bout in the bantamweight division against Ayideng “A.J.” Jumayi, 28, of China.
Olivier Coste served as the referee. From the first round to the last, Abelardo proved far too quick and powerful for Jumayi, who was a step behind the entire bout.
After three five-minute rounds, the bantamweight bout was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Coste raised the hand of Abelardo, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Dawn of Valor” improved the professional MMA record of Abelardo to 19 wins and 6 losses. On the other hand, Jumayi now has 17 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw.
Including New Zealand and China, 15 countries were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Valor.” The others were Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Sweden, Tajikistan, Timor Leste and the United States.
