Ilias Ennahachi, 23, of the Netherlands and Morocco China was one of the ONE Championship athletes who participated in the official “ONE: Age of Dragons” open workout in Beijing, China on November 13, 2019. The reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion is set to defend his belt from “Metal Storm” Wang Wenfeng, 26, of China.
This will be the third time Ennahachi is fighting Wang. The Dutch-Moroccan kickboxer won their first bout in 2014 and the Chinese kickboxer won their rematch in 2017.
“I am familiar with Wang Wenfeng,” Ennahachi said. “I think we know each other very well. I’ve fought against him twice already.”
Featuring six MMA bouts, four kickboxing contests and one Muay Thai match, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Age of Dragons” at the Cadillac Arena in Beijing on November 16, 2019. The trilogy bout between Ennahachi and Wang is the main event of the evening.
“I’m ready to put this rivalry behind me,” Ennahachi declared. “I know the Chinese people will be cheering for their athlete. I’m prepared for that and I’m honored to be competing here in Beijing but a fight is a fight.”
“It does not matter where it takes place,” Ennahachi continued. “I am more than ready to show the world what I am capable of. The feeling is indeed different because when I challenged for the title, I had nothing to lose and now that I am the champion, I have my belt on the line.”
“All preparations for this fight have gone according to plan,” the Dutch-Moroccan kickboxer added. “Now the only thing left is to execute.”
Ennahachi was born in Utrecht, Netherlands on May 15, 1996. Wang was his first ever opponent as a professional kickboxer.
Wang was born in Hefei, Anhui, China on June 20, 1993. He has been competing professionally since 2014 and he now holds a professional kickboxing record of 28 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw.
A KLF Kickboxing World Champion, Wang is training out of Xingbo Shengshi Fight Club. He will make his debut in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series at “ONE: Age of Dragons.”
On the other hand, “ONE: Age of Dragons” marks Ennahachi’s third ONE Super Series bout and his first title defense as the reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion. He currently has 30 wins and 3 losses.
