BRAVE Combat Federation Lightweight World Champion Cleiton “Predator” Silva, 33, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil is ready to defend his title after shocking the world of mixed martial arts with a stellar display against former champion Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. The title defense will be at “BRAVE CF 35.”
BRAVE CF will hold “BRAVE CF 35” in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil. In the main event of the evening, Silva will defend his title from Guram “The Georgian Viking” Kutateladze, 28, of Georgia.
“This division is great,” Silva said. “(It is) full of amazing fighters but I just have one goal right now, (which is) to beat Guram, to beat him up badly. I want to show everyone that I’m the champion and no one is coming to my house to take that from me.”
“I will be champion for many years, and I want to keep defending this belt for a long time,” the reigning BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion continued. “It would be cool to fight against other champions. I’m not going to lie. Let’s see what the future holds but right now my focus is on Guram.”
Silva has made waves since joining BRAVE CF in 2018 as he beat Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir, 27, of Egypt in a bloody war at “BRAVE CF 11” in Belo Horizonte. After that, the Brazilian MMA fighter went to Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia and submitted Marcelo “Chelo” Bustos, 29, of Catamarca, Brazil at “BRAVE CF 15.”
The two wins credentialed Silva to take on Santiago, his arch-rival and then champion. In one of the most anticipated fights in Brazilian MMA history, the Belo Horizonte native shocked Brazil and the world of MMA by submitting his opponent from Curitiba in less than a minute in the main event of “BRAVE CF 25.”
Now, Silva will have another BRAVE CF main event to look forward to as he takes on Kutateladze for his lightweight belt. The Georgian challenger has impressed since joining BRAVE CF, first taking dominant decision victory over Erick “Indio Brabo” da Silva, 31, of Balneario Camboriu at “BRAVE CF 16” then following it up with a brutal knockout win over Felipe Silva, 35, of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais at “BRAVE CF 29.”
“BRAVE CF 35” is the fifth BRAVE CF event to take place in Brazil. This makes the country one of the two countries with most BRAVE CF shows along with Bahrain since the organization’s inception in late 2016.
