Amir “King” Khan, 33, praised the partnership between Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa (KHK) Sports and Mack The Knife (MTK) Global. The two companies will host a pioneering boxing summit in Bahrain in September 2020.

KHK Sports is a vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, 30, of Bahrain. He is his home country’s first deputy president of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Bahrain Olympic Committee president and the BRAVE Combat Federation founder.

“I think it’s brilliant that MTK are partnering with His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the team at KHK in Bahrain,” Khan said. “It’s truly great to see the Eastern world and the Western world join forces and that the high profile, top boxing leaders are coming together for this summit.

Prior to the announcement of the boxing summit, KHK Sports appointed MTK Global co-founder Daniel Kinahan, 42, of Ireland as a special advisor. He has been instrumental in securing some of the biggest global events in the sport and as advisor for Top Rank in the MENA region, he has expertise and connections that will strengthen the KHK Sports brand and immediately expand its international reach.

“I have a lot of confidence in MTK and how they are moving forward in helping to improve the sport of boxing,” Khan said. “This is what we needed and what we need going forward.”

For Khan, it is fantastic that MTK Global is now investing in the Middle East and partnering with the local drivers of boxing.  The Pakistani-British boxer believes that this can only “improve the sport and give more individuals, specially boxers, the chance to perform at such high levels and in locations that they never thought they would be able to fight in.”

Born in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England on December 8, 1986 to a Punjabi Rajput family, Khan is a Muslim and a member of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order. As a professional boxer, he has been competing since 2005 and his record is currently 34 wins and 5 losses.
