Lennox “The Lion” Lewis, 54, of England and Canada is one of the boxing legends who reacted to the announcement about the pioneering boxing summit Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa (KHK) Sports and Mack The Knife (MTK) Global will host in Bahrain. This is great news for the three-time heavyweight world champion.
The groundbreaking conference will see industry leaders sit down together for the first time to discuss the future of boxing. It is scheduled to be held in September 2020.
KHK Sports is a vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, 30, of Bahrain. He is his home country’s first deputy president of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Bahrain Olympic Committee president and the BRAVE Combat Federation founder.
“Having heard the great news of MTK Global partnering with His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s KHK Sports, I can’t wait to see boxing in Bahrain,” Lewis stated. “(I expect) big things.”
Born in West Ham, London, England on September 2, 1965, Lewis represented Canada when he won a gold medal as an amateur at the 1988 Summer Olympics. As a professional boxer, the British-Canadian fighter competed from 1989 to 2003 and had 41 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.
Prior to the announcement of the boxing summit, KHK Sports appointed MTK Global co-founder Daniel Kinahan, 42, of Ireland as a special advisor. He has been instrumental in securing some of the biggest global events in the sport and as advisor for Top Rank in the MENA region, he has expertise and connections that will strengthen the KHK Sports brand and immediately expand its international reach.
Kinahan is honored to work with Al Khalifa and the entire the team at KHK Sports. The MTK Global co-founder said, “KHK Sports has made an impressive mark on the world of combat sports and has fantastic ambitions to grow into a global powerhouse.”
Both Kinahan and MTK Global president Bob Yalen, 62, of the U.S. are excited about the upcoming events. The latter said, “MTK Global has always prided itself on its great working relationship with all the leading promoters, managers and leaders in the sport.”
