Mike “Platinum” Perry, 28, of Orlando, Florida, United States had a redemptive win at “UFC on ESPN 12,” also known as “UFC Vegas 4.” Coming out of two consecutive losses, he earned his seventh victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC Vegas 4” took place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on June 27, 2020. In the co-main event of the evening, Perry fought Mickey Gall, 28, of Green Brook, New Jersey, USA in the welterweight division.
Keith Peterson served as the referee. After three five-minute rounds, the welterweight contest was left in the hands of the judges, who all scored it 29-28.
In the end, Peterson raised the hand of Perry. The Orlando native was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
It was the third time Perry won a UFC bout via judges’ decision. Winning at “UFC Vegas 4” improved his professional MMA record to 14 wins and 6 losses.
On the other hand, Gall now has 6 wins and 3 losses. It was his third loss in the UFC.
Five countries were represented at “UFC Vegas 4” namely Brazil, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the U.S. Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier, 31, of Coconut Creek, Florida defeated Dan “The Hangman” Hooker, 30, of Auckland, New Zealand in the main event, which was named the Fight of the Night.
Kay Hansen, 20, of Fullerton, California, USA and Julian “Juicy J” Erosa, 30, of Yakima, Washington, USA won the Performances of the Night bonuses. She submitted Jinh Yu Frey, 35, of Arlington, Texas, USA while he submitted Sean “The Sniper” Woodson, 28, of Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.

Born in Flint, Michigan, USA on September 15, 1991, Perry started training boxing when he was 11 years old. He made his professional MMA debut in 2014.
In 2016, Perry joined the UFC. Before facing Gall, the opponents the Orlando native defeated in the promotion were Hyun Gyu Lim, Danny Roberts, Jake Ellenberger, Alex Reyes, Paul Felder and Alex Oliveira.
