Northern Ireland’s Maciej Gierszewski earns 3rd BRAVE CF win, knocks out Mihai Suru Bogdan in Bucharest, Romania

Maciej “Magic Man” Gierszewski, 33, has earned his third victory in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion BRAVE Combat Federation. Fighting out of Lebork, Poland by way of Belfast, Northern Ireland, he was one of the “BRAVE CF 36” winners.

In partnership with Real Xtreme Fighting (RXF), BRAVE CF held “BRAVE CF 36” at Berăria H in Bucharest, Romania on July 27, 2020. In the third bout of the evening, Gierszewski fought Mihai Suru Bogdan, 24, of Bistrita, Romania at a catch weight of 72kg.

The referee put a stop to the catchweight contest after 1 minute and 8 seconds in the first round. Gierszewski knocked out Bogdan via punches.

It was the seventh time Gierszewski knocked out an opponent in a professional MMA bout. Winning at “BRAVE CF 36” improved his professional MMA record to 7 wins and 5 losses.

On the other hand, Bogdan now has 0 win and 2 losses. The Romanian MMA fighter made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 36.”

 

Including Poland, Northern Ireland and Romania, 12 countries were represented at “BRAVE CF 36.” The others were Austria, Canada, France, Ireland, Latvia, Moldova, Sweden, Switzerland and Trinidad and Tobago.

Gierszewski solely represented both Poland and Northern Ireland. Bogdan was one of the three representatives of the host country.

In the main event of the evening, kickboxer Cristi Constantinov, 23, of Bucharest made his professional MMA debut and BRAVE CF debut. He was submitted by Todd “The Black Hulk” Stoute, 36, of Trinidad and Tobago and Canada at a catch weight of 104kg.

In the co-main event, Kevin Ruart, 32, of France and Switzerland broke the undefeated record of Ion Surdu, 25, of Moldova and Romania when they competed in the welterweight division. The French-Swiss contender knocked out his Moldovan-Romanian opponent.

 

Gierszewski was coming out of an armbar submission loss to John “Trouble” Brewin, 25, of Auckland, New Zealand at “BRAVE CF 28” on November 4, 2019. “BRAVE CF 36” marked the Polish-Northern Irish MMA fighter’s third outing in BRAVE CF.

When Gierszewski made his BRAVE CF debut at “Brave 24: London” at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, England on July 25, 2019, he fought Cian “The Warrior” Cowley, 25, of Ireland in the lightweight division. The Belfast resident knocked out his Irish opponent.
