Fighting out of Santiago, Chile by way of Umea, Vasterbotten, Sweden, Fernando “El Toro” Flores, 36, was one of the winners at “BRAVE CF 37.” It was his first victory in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion BRAVE Combat Federation.
In partnership with Swedish MMA promotion Bulldog Fight Night, BRAVE CF held “BRAVE CF 37” in Stockholm, Sweden on August 1, 2020 with eight professional MMA bouts. In the fourth bout of the evening, Flores competed in the featherweight division against fought Michael “Maicon D” Deiga Scheck, 34, who is fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by way of Munich, Germany.
Declan Larkin served as the referee. He put a stop to the featherweight contest after 4 minutes and 51 seconds in the first round when Flores submitted Deiga-Scheck via D’Arce choke.
It was the second time Flores submitted an opponent in a professional MMA bout. Winning at “BRAVE CF 37” improved the Chilean-Swedish MMA fighter’s professional MMA record to 7 wins and 7 losses.
“BRAVE CF 37” marked Deiga-Scheck’s third bout and third loss in BRAVE CF. The Brazilian-German MMA fighter now has 7 wins and 4 losses.
Including Brazil, Chile, Germany and Sweden, 14 countries were represented at “BRAVE CF 37.” The other countries were Afghanistan, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Greece, Northern Ireland, Norway, Russia and Turkey.
Deiga-Scheck solely represented Brazil and Germany. Flores was the sole representative of Chile and was one of the six representatives of the host country.
In the main event of the evening, Louis “Spartacus” Glismann, 29, of Copenhagen, Denmark fought Henri Lintula, 29, of Kerava, Uusimaa, Finland in the welterweight division. The Danish contender submitted his Finnish opponent via rear-naked choke.
In the co-main event, Irman “The People’s Champ” Smajić, 37, of Sweden fought Fatih Aktas, 30, of Turkey in the heavyweight division. The Swedish contender won via unanimous decision.
