Dan Royce Schochler III, 23, of Denton, Denton County, Texas, United States supports the Industrial Workers of the World, the Green Party of the United States and Howie Hawkins. He is not a big fan of 45th U.S. president Donald Trump, 74.
Wearing a black glasses, a blue face mask and blue shirt while carrying a flag, Schochler went to Buc-ee’s in Denton on October 3, 2020. A Make America Great Again meet-up was scheduled for 11:15 a.m. that day outside the convenience store.
Schochler and a friend observed the group of supporters of Trump outside the store. As counter-protesters, Schochler and his friend played “FDT” (“F**k Donald Trump“), a protest song by Keenon Dequan Ray “YG” Jackson featuring Ermias Joseph “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom.
“I’ll ask you, homeboy!” Jason Michael Lata, 44, of Flower Mound, Texas, one of Trump’s supporters, yelled at Schochler. “I’ll f**king eat your face off, mother f**ker! You want a f–king piece?”
“No, thank you,” Schochler replied. It led to an argument and ended in a physical assault.
“Turn it off! I’ll f**k you up!” Lata yelled at Schochler before punching the counter-protester in the face. When Schochler fell to the ground, Lata yelled, “Get up, motherf*****r!”
Schochler was hospitalized after suffering an abrasion below his right eyebrow and a broken tooth. A video of the attack went viral.
On October 4, 2020, Schochler took to Twitter to confirm that he was the one sucker-punched in the viral video. He set up a GoFundMe page for himself.
After 19 hours, the fundraiser raised $4,859 of the $5,000 goal. Schochler pledged to donate to Denton’s Food not Bombs and the Audre Lorde Project any amount donated to him that he would not need for his medical expenses.

How about the fact that he went there pretending to be part of the the MAGA road rally before he jumped on his car and started yelling. Most everyone ignored him and many encouraged him to leave and not create a scene. He continued and then started playing the song. The man that got mad and punched him was not part of the MAGA rally either. Did you not realize that this antagonizer got paid $25,000 for his video and story by TMZ. The whole thing was a set up so he and the other guy could try to make us look bad and profit from the story and GoFundMe account. This is what this world has come too. Fake events for fake news stories. Some other interesting facts, one of our vehicles had a sprite can thrown through the window and shattered it while on the highway. How dangerous was that? Another incident involved a person stopping their car in the middle of the road to get out and go beat on another car. Then they proceeded to chase down cars with their hand in their pocket. Possible gun? Police were called, license plate was taken down. Other agitators tried to run us off the road. So we are the violent ones? Many instances from the left or anti Donald Trump, but one guy that you claimed was with us and was not. Let’s try again. The majority of Trump supporters are not looking for a fight, the majority of Antifa supporters are looking for a fight. You go looking for a fight and you will find one, especially when you set it up to happen so you can make money off of it. NOW YOU HAVE THE REST OF THE STORY.
