Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev (Хамзат Чимаев), 26, of Sweden competes both in the welterweight and middleweight divisions of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The undefeated mixed martial artist of Chechen descent can reign as the UFC champion in both divisions simultaneously unless someone hands him his first loss in the promotion.

The reigning UFC champions in those divisions are both of Nigerian descent. Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya, 31, of New Zealand and Nigeria holds the middleweight title while Kamaru “The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman, 33, of the United States and Nigeria has the welterweight belt.

Chimaev wants to challenge both Adesanya and Usman soon. The undefeated Chechen-Swedish MMA fighter told UFC veteran and analyst Dan Hardy that he may win two more fights before challenging the UFC middleweight and welterweight champions.

“(I want to fight) both guys maybe both (in the) same day,” Chimaev said of Adesanya and Usman. “(I want) both fights. We’ll see.”

On July 12, 2020 on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates or July 11, 2020 in the U.S., Usman successfully defended the UFC Welterweight Championship title from Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal, 35, of the U.S. It was the Nigerian-American champion’s second successful title defense in the division.

Like Usman, Adesanya has two successful title defenses. He defeated Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero, 42, of Cuba and the U.S. at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on March 7, 2020 and knocked out Paulo “Borrachinha” Costa, 29, of Brazil on Yas Island on September 27, 2020 in the UAE or on September 26, 2020 in the U.S.

It was also on Yas Island where Chimaev earned his first two UFC wins. He submitted John “The Welsh Wrecking Machine” Phillips, 35, of Wales on July 16, 2020 and knocked out Rhys “Skeletor” McKee, 25, of Northern Ireland on July 26, 2020.

On September 19, 2020, Chimaev earned his third UFC victory by knocking out Gerald “GM3” Meerschaert, 32, of the U.S. at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. It improved the undefeated Chechen-Swedish MMA fighter’s professional MMA record to 9 wins and 0 loss.

The UFC has yet to announce Chimaev’s next opponent. Meanwhile, here is a recent video about him from MMA veteran Chael Sonnen, 43, of the U.S.
