Dubbed Jake Angeli or the Qanon Shaman, Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansely, 32, hails from Phoenix, Arizona, United States. He is one of the supporters of 45th U.S. president Donald Trump, 72, who breached the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., USA on January 6, 2021.

That day, a joint session of Congress was certifying the vote of the Electoral College and affirming the victory of Joe Biden, 78, in the 2020 presidential election. On January 20, 2020, he was inaugurated as the 46th U.S. president along with Kamala Harris, 56, as the 49th U.S. vice president.

On January 12, 2021, Angeli was charged with civil disorder, obstruction of an official proceeding, disorderly conduct in a restricted building, and demonstrating in a U.S. Capitol building. He is represented by Albert Watkins of St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

Apparently, Angeli has shown remorse after the aftermath of the controversial U.S. Capitol insurrection. Watkins told KDSK that his client “regrets very very much having not just been duped by the president but by being in a position where he allowed that duping to put him in a position to make decisions he should not have made.”

Watkins referred to Angeli as “the guy with the horns and the fur” associated with “meditation and organic food.” The lawyer added, “I’m telling you that we cannot simply wave a magic wand and label all these people on January 6 the same.”

The biggest supporter of Angeli is understandably his mother Martha Chansley. In an interview with ABC15 on January 7, 2021, she said her son is probably one of the gentlest people she knows.

“It takes a lot of courage to be a patriot, okay, and to stand up for what it is that you believe,” Martha said. “Not everybody wants to be the person upfront.”

Angeli attended Moon Valley High School in Phoenix. He served honorably in the U.S. military, according to Watkins.

“He’s trying to get people to hear the message,” Martha said of her son. “Wake up. Wake up. Don’t we still live in the United States of America?”

Martha was in the courtroom when Angeli appeared telephonically in a federal courthouse in Phoenix for a detention hearing before Judge Deborah Fine on January 15, 2021. After the hearing, Martha explained her son’s diet.

“He gets very sick if he doesn’t eat organic food,” Martha said of her son in an interview with ABC15. “(He) literally will get physically sick.”

Atkins tried to get Angeli released on GPS monitoring. However, Fine ordered the Qanon Shaman held in jail without bond.
