  5. On January 6, 2021, he listened to Donald Trump‘s speech at the Stop the Steal rally on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. before going to the U.S. Capitol building. That day, Trump’s supporters breached the building while a joint session of Congress was certifying the vote of the Electoral College and affirming Joe Biden‘s victory in the 2020 presidential election. He was one of the rioters who entered the office of Oregon senator Jeff Merkley. (a)
