Sofia, Bulgaria’s Radinela Chusheva to compete in Miss Universe 2020 in Hollywood, Florida

Radinela Chusheva (Радинела Чушева), 24, will represent Bulgaria in Miss Universe 2020. Hailing from Sofia, Bulgaria, she will be the European country’s 24th representative in the international beauty pageant, which was formed on June 28, 1952.

The first 23 women who represented Bulgaria in Miss Universe were all unplaced. Now, it is Chusheva’s mission to be the first one to at least land in the quaterfinals if not win the crown.

Due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the seventh edition of Miss Universe Bulgaria was not held in 2020. On March 31, 2021, Bok Stars Models Agency appointed Chusheva as Miss Universe Bulgaria 2020.

Chusheva is a model who speaks English and Romanian. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in marketing from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia.

When Chusheva was younger, she competed in rhythmic gymnastics and won medals. She loves dancing, painting and sports.The Sofia native competed in Miss Universe Bulgaria 2014. She was one of the three runners-up while Kristina Georgieva won the crown at the Paradise Center in Sofia on November 16, 2014.

In 2019, Chusheva won the Miss Bulgaria pageant. She received criticisms due to the cosmetic surgeries she has undergone.

 

Including Chusheva, there are now 75 candidates confirmed to compete in Miss Universe 2020. Among her strongest competitions are Miqueal-Symone Williams, 23, of Jamaica, Sarita Reth, 25, of Cambodia, Nova Stevens, 27, of Canada, Bianca Lorena Tirsin, 22, of Romania and Maria Thattil, 27, of Australia.

Based in New York City, New York, United States, the Miss Universe Organization is currently owned by the WME/IMG talent agency. Besting 89 other candidates, Zozibini Tunzi, 27, of South Africa was crowned Miss Universe 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on December 8, 2019.

The Miss Universe 2020 coronation ceremony was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making Tunzi the longest reigning Miss Universe. She will pass her crown at the Miss Universe 2020 coronation night at 8:00 p.m. ET on May 16, 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida, USA.
