Sydni Dion Bennett, 20, of Algonquin, Illinois, United States almost won Miss USA 2021. She was the third runner-up of the 70th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.
Hosted by Zuri Hall, Patrick Ta and Nicole Adamo, the Miss USA 2021 coronation night took place at the Paradise Cove Theater of the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA on November 29, 2021. Including Bennett, 51 candidates competed for the crown.
It was Ellen Elizabeth ‘Elle” Smith, 23, of Germantown, Kentucky, USA who won the title while Caitlyn Vogel, 21, of Minot, North Dakota, USA was her runner-up. Ashley Ann Cariño Barreto, 27, of Kissimmee, Florida, USA was second runner-up.
Bennett is the youngest and the only girl among four siblings. She is a member of Life Changers International Church.
The Algonquin resident is a ballet instructor at Perfection Dance Artistry and Company dance studio. She attended the Chicago Academy for the Arts.
Representing Chicago, Bennett was crowned Miss Illinois Teen USA 2018, making her the first African-American girl to win the title. Representing Illinois, she was Miss Teen USA 2018 third runner-up.
On December 31, 2019, Bennett launched Diverse Style by Sydni Dion. On June 27, 2021, she was crowned Miss Illinois USA 2021 in the Braden Auditorium of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
