Mateusz Gamrot is a Polish wrestler, grappler and mixed martial artist whose fight name is Gamer. He stands 5’10” and competes in the featherweight and lightweight divisions.

As an MMA fighter, Gamrot has been competing professionally since 2012. He is a protégé of wrestling champion Andrzej Kościelski.

1. He was born in Bielsko-Biala, Poland but he grew up in Kudowa-Zdrój, Poland. In junior high school, he moved to a boarding school in Milicz, Poland where he trained in freestyle wrestling. In college, he studied emergency medical services and physical education.
2. In 2011, he moved to Poznań, Poland where he started his training in grappling, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling and boxing and won gold at the Polish Open MMA Championship in the -73kg category in Teresin, Sochaczew County, Poland.
3. In 2012, he defeated three opponents in X Fight Series (XFS) namely Arbu Shamaev of Poland, Tomasz Matuszewski of Poland and Tomas Deak of Slovakia. In the same year, he won gold at the 2nd Polish Championship No-Gi in the 74kg category for blue belts in Luboń, Poland and won gold at the European Amateur MMA Championships in Brussels, Belgium in the -71kg category.
4. In 2013, he defeated two opponents in Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) namely Mateusz “Barni” Zawadski of Poland and Andre Winner of England. In the same year, he won gold at the Polish Grappling Championship in the -77kg category in Poznań, gold at the European Amateur MMA Championships in the -70kg category in Budapest, Hungary and gold at the 3rd Polish Championships No-Gi in the purple stripes category in Luboń.

In 2014, he defeated Jefferson “Shadow Demon Blaximus” George of England and Lukasz “Sasza” Chlewicki of Poland in KSW and Tim “Super Human” Newman of Wales in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship (CWFC). In the same year, he won gold at the 4th Polish Championship No-Gi in the purple stripes category again in Luboń, gold at the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) European Championships in the 77kg category in Sofia, Bulgaria.
6. In 2015, he defeated Rodrigo Cavalheiro Correia of Brazil and Marif “Piranha” Piraev of Russia in KSW. In the same year, he won gold at the Great Britain NAGA Championship in the 79.5kg category in London, England, United Kingdom and bronze at the ADCC European Championship in the 76.9kg category in Turku, Finland.

In 2016, he became the KSW Lightweight Champion by defeating Mansour “The Afro-Samurai” Barnaoui of France and successfully defended the title from Renato “Pezinho” Gomes Gabriel of Brazil. In the same year, he won gold at the VI Polish No-Gi Championship in the 79.5kg category for purple stripes in Luboń and gold at the XII Polish ADCC Championships in the 76.9kg category.
8. In 2017, he fought Norman “Stormin” Parke of Northern Ireland twice in KSW. He won via unanimous decision in their the first encounter, in which he successfully defended his KSW Lightweight Championship title. Their rematch was not a title bout because Parke did not make the weight. It ended in a No Contest due to accidental eye poke.
9. In 2018, he successfully defended his KSW Lightweight Championship title from Grzegorz “Szuli” Szulakowski of Poland and Kleber Koike Erbst of Japan in KSW. In the same year, he won silver at the ADCC European Championship in the 77kg category.
10. In 2019, he won gold ADCC European Championship in the 77kg category in Sofia. In the same year, he did not have any professional MMA bouts.
11. On July 11, 2020, he defeated Parke for the second time in KSW, which was not a title bout because the Northern Irish MMA fighter did not make the weight. On August 29, 2020, he successfully defended his KSW Lightweight Championship title from Marian “Golden Boy” Ziolkowski of Poland in KSW. When he made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at “UFC Fight Night 180” on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on October 17, 2020, he lost to Guram “Georgian Viking” Kutateladze of Georgia, marking his first ever professional MMA loss, and the match was declared the Fight of the Night.
12. On April 10, 2021, he earned his first UFC win by knocking out Scott Holtzman of the U.S. at “UFC on ABC 2” in Enterprise, Nevada, USA. On July 17, 2021, he submitted Jeremy Stephens of the U.S. at “UFC on ESPN 26” in Las Vegas. On December 18, 2021, he defeated Diego Ferreira of Brazil via technical knockout at “UFC Fight Night 199” in Enterprise.
