Mom of Highwood, Illinois rapper Bobby Crimo confronted by police

Denise Crimo

Denise Marie Pesina Crimo, 48, is a certified health practitioner from Highland Park, Illinois, United States. She is the estranged wife of  Robert “Bob” Crimo II, 57, of Highwood, Illinois.

Bob and Denise are the parents of Lynette A. Pesina Crimo, 27, of Chicago, Illinois and Robert Eugene “Bobby” Crimo III, 21, of Highwood, a rapper also known as Awake the Rapper. Both Lynette and Bobby attended Highland Park High School.

In 2010, Bob accused Denise of hitting him with a screwdriver on the left forearm. However, he recanted once he got to the police station.

Bobby Crimo

On July 4, 2022, Bobby allegedly opened fire after a Fourth of July parade began in Highland Park. Seven people were killed and 48 others were injured.

After the mass shooting, Bobby allegedly blended in with the crowd. While dressed as a woman, he walked to Denise’s home to borrow her 2010 silver Honda Fit.

Denise appeared very angry when she was confronted by police in Highland Park before Bobby was arrested in Lake Forest, Chicago, Illinois in the evening. She and Bob retained Steven Greenberg as their lawyer.
