Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, of Nescopeck, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States is the son of Rosa D. Reyes, 56, of Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. According to him, he was tired of fighting with her about several issues including money.
On December 26, 2020, Rosa would not let Adrian use her cellphone. Because of this, he snatched the cellphone and used it to hit his mother in the face.
Adrian was charged with assault and harassment. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months probation, which ended in July 2022.

On August 5, 2022, a housefire killed a family of 10 people and 13 dogs at a home in Nescopeck. Around 75 mourners attended a daylong community benefit for the victims at a restaurant in Berwick on August 13, 2022.
At round 6:15 p.m., Adrian was driving his blue Honda Accord in Berwick when he noticed the group of mourners. He decided to ram his car through the crowd outside the restaurant, killing one woman, 50, and wounding 17 other people.
Four of the 17 wounded victims were in critical condition while five were still being evaluated for conditions at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Montour County, Pennsylvania. Three of the victims were in fair condition.
Adrian fled the scene and went to Rosa’s house in Berwick where he fatally assaulted her. He was arrested there that evening.
On August 14, 2022, Magisterial District Judge Richard Cashman arraigned Adrian for two open counts of criminal homicide. The Nescopeck resident was denied bail and remanded to the Columbia County Correctional Facility in Bloomsburg, Columbia County.
Adrian’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 29, 2022. If convicted, the maximum penalty he faces is death.
