Chaundre Cross still missing; GenesisCare saddened by presumed loss of Naples, Florida doctor


Dr. Chaundre K. Cross, 49, of Naples, Florida, United States is still missing. The radiation oncologist, who joined GenesisCare in November 2004, was last seen wearing a purple shirt and black pants on his boat leaving the Naples Bay Resort and Marina in Naples on August 10, 2022.

On August 16, 2022, GenesisCare issued a statement after the U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search for Cross. The company stated, “We are deeply saddened by the presumed loss of our colleague, Dr. Chaundre Cross, following the U.S. Coast Guard’s announcement that it has suspended its search for him on August 14, 2022.”


“Dr. Cross has served the Naples and Bonita Springs communities for more than 15 years, providing compassionate and expert care to patients undergoing cancer treatment,” GenesisCare continued. “We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends and work colleagues.”

An expert in prostate, breast and brain cancer, Cross served as president of the Board of the Cancer Alliance of Naples and chairman of the Cancer Committee at the NCH Healthcare System both in Naples. On the evening of August 11, 2022, his boat was found undamaged in the Gulf of Mexico between Naples and Sanibel, Florida while he is still missing.
